Export recordings to a computer

You can transfer your recordings to a computer either by USB cable or via Quick Share (Windows and Android only).

Via USB cable

• Windows 10/11 and Android support MTP file transfers natively.

• macOS: install an MTP client (for example, OpenMTP).

• Linux: support depends on your distribution, consult this article.

1. Connect your device to the computer using a reliable USB data cable.
2. On your device, change the USB mode from “Charging” to “File Transfer” (MTP).
3. Keep the device unlocked while browsing and copying files. On macOS, use the MTP client you installed.

Quick Share (Windows and Android only)

1. On Android, install the Files by Google app. On Windows, install the Quick Share app.
2. Open each app and follow the on-screen setup instructions.
3. In Files by Google or Quick Share, select the folder containing your recordings and send it to the other device.

Note: Smart Recorder saves files in the folder you specify. To find the exact path, open the app’s Settings and check Files Location.
